Enterprises

Livelihood is a means of securing the necessities of life. It can be further understood as adequate and sustainable access to income and resources to meet basic needs. The basic necessities of life will include adequate access to food, potable water, health facilities, educational opportunities, housing, time for community participation and social integration. Everyone in the world has the capability to earn their livelihood if necessities are limited to the basic requirements of life. Having sustainability in earning one’s livelihood is definitely a matter to be emphasized. If one does not sharpen the skills it own, does not work on the frame of capacity it has, gradually the “Livelihood” suffers. Hence it is a basic requirement to know the “Forte” of a person when deciding the livelihood practices. At Jan Jeevika, we are working to understand the skill level of the people we are working with and give them a scope to polish their skill-set to earn a better living. We are also identifying and creating areas of work where people having a certain skill set can get better opportunities.
